Life.Changes.

Many patients are in Bridgepoint Hospital for months at a time. Staying connected with their life outside the hospital helps them maintain a sense of purpose and independence, while they focus on getting well enough to return home.

The Hospital for Sick Children

The Hospital for Sick Children

Every year, more than 100,000 children and youth from Canada and around the world come to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto for its highly-regarded treatment and care. A stay in the hospital can be a scary experience for children, especially when it means being away from family, friends - and beloved pets. A visit from a furry friend can help reduce the anxiety children may experience while at SickKids. Specially-trained handlers and their dogs visit different hospital units and make bed side visits when appropriate. Therapeutic dogs are popular with patients, many of whom miss the comfort and loyalty of the pet that is waiting for them at home.
